The Wound of Humanity
"Humanity is a blight, a festering wound on the face of existence."
The Nature We Hide
We are born selfish.
Clawing for survival.
Driven by instinct.
Yet we dress our hunger in noble disguises:
Progress.
Love.
Justice.
Every act of kindness carries a motive.
Every smile can hide a blade.
We claim to be creators, but we are also destroyers—leaving scars on the earth and on each other in our endless pursuit of more.
No Redemption
There is no redemption.
No higher purpose.
Only a species struggling against itself.
We build empires on the bones of others, then call it civilization.
We preach virtue while we plunder, lie, and destroy.
The history of humanity is a ledger of suffering, written in blood and justified through words.
The Reflection We Avoid
We are not as special as we imagine.
We are a force of both creation and destruction, capable of beauty and cruelty in equal measure.
Yet we often look away from the damage we cause.
We hide in:
Religion.
Ideology.
Acts of charity.
Anything that allows us to believe we are better than our actions reveal.
The Endless Cycle
But the uncomfortable truth remains:
Humanity carries its own darkness.
Every kindness can be followed by cruelty.
Every peace can be followed by conflict.
Every achievement can create another wound.
We are a species forever caught between what we can become and what we repeatedly choose to be.
